The West Ashley Outboard Motor Club is comprised of members with good morals, interested in safe boating with particular interest in promoting the goals of the club. Members are expected to actively participate in committees, work parties, charitable and social events. Membership is by invitation and is limited to 200 members.
Applicants must meet the following criteria before being considered for membership.
- High moral character and sponsorship by two current members in good standing.
- Interested in water safety and activities as shown by ownership of a boat and motor as validated by title or registration. Your boat must pass a mandatory safety inspection for valid safety equipment, sea worthiness and documentation in the current year.
- Attend two meetings as a guest and have your name published in our monthly newsletter at least twice.
- Complete a membership application that is approved by our Membership Committee.
- Successfully pass a background check by the Membership Committee.
- Membership space availability and positive vote by general membership.
